Summary: Start downhill from the trailhead. Several plants are marked with signs, and benches are provided to rest on at several points on the hike. Proceed 0.43 mi downhill to the junction marked with a sign. Take the trail left. Follow the trail into the canyon, up over the hilltop, and back down and around into the main valley. When you rejoin the main trail at 1.90 mi, follow it southeast and up-hill, past the previous junction, and back up to the starting point.
Trailhead: From the junction of I-10 and Trans-Mountain road, go east on Trans-Mountain road 3.8 miles. Turn left at the park entrance. Stop and pay the park fee at the gate, or proceed to the ranger booth as the signs direct. Once past the ranger booth, proceed into the park straight back to the end of the main road. Park and assemble your gear. The trailhead is just behind the brick restroom. The trail goes left and downhill from the trailhead. (Lat:31.9312 Lon:-106.51329)
