Hike and boat among the cowpies along St. Johns Ri

Highlights:

Ever-changing river water levels, cowpies, gators, birds, mud
Near:Christmas, FL
Scenery:
Distance:8 miles round trip
Elevation Gain:10 ft
Hike Time:4.5 hours
Difficulty:Strenuous
Trail Condition:Poorly maintained trail
HikeType:Out and Back

Summary: This was a combination hike and airboat ride along the St. Johns River that borders Brevard and Orange Counties. Launch your boat from here: N 28° 32.578 W 080° 56.139 and head south to the 528 bridge.

There are hiking trails in various spots along the river, but some of them are underwater during the year. I went out there to hike and find a few geocaches and one terracache.

There are also a lot of cows and therefore cowpies. So if you don't like cow poop, don't hike this one.

Trailhead: This was a combination airboat ride and hike. Launch your boat from the boat ramp on SR 50 at N 28° 32.578 W 080° 56.139.
