NICE HIKE BUT MISSES THE BEST OF THE TRAIL, REACHING THE FIRE TOWER OUT AND BACK ABOUT 9 MILES

Hiked this trail during summer of 07 on many different occasions. The trail itself could be a little tricky in different spots but the views are well worth it. Never seen s single rattle snake but did encounter couple of deer gatherings near the beginning of the trail not far from waterfall.

I agree with the other reviews: Good loop hike! Trails were icy from the last ice storm but I got by on the edges where the ice/snow was softer. Crossing Jennings creek was a bit tricky due to the recent rain, but it glistened in the sunlight and the views were great!

Great hike! Total solitude. Hiked this on 12/09/2007. There was some snow on the ground just before two big weather events in the Northeast. Though it was cloudy nice view from Big Beech Mtn. Interesting rock formation near and peaceful Jennings hollow. No snakes, of course.

Nice hike: as a West Milford resident, I can confirm statements made by the author and S.C. that water crossings are frequently an issue and that one must watch for rattlesnakes. Note: just west of Jennings Hollow Trail is trailless Jennings Mtn (1,072') which is an unofficial peak of the West Milford 13ers' Baker's Dozen Challenge. It is a required peak of the West Milford Winter 17 Challenge as well. Great views of Greenwood Lake & Bearfort Mtn can be found on it's southwestern ledges. Summit is marked by a shirt tied around an Altantic White Cedar tree. Best to hike in cold weather (snakes) be careful on ledges!

Very good loop! Hiked it solo on a cloudy day in august. Nive views from Big Beech Mtn, but watch out for the rattle snakes. Almost steped on one as I came up the trail. He was right out on the trail with 2 of his friends. It seems they like the rocky view points.
