Summary: Take the white blazed Todd Trail on the east side of Skyline Drive (trailhead is directly across from parking lot). The trail descends through a rocky forested area and soon meets, then leaves a woods road. Continue on the white trail to a nice overlook with views of the town of Oakland below. Retrace your steps and pick up the yellow blazed trail on your right. The trail will skirt a swampy area and pass by scenic Lake Todd (a great spot for a lunch break). The trail then climbs to a grassy area (gypsy moths and recent droughts have killed most of the trees here). Continue on the yellow trail and it will begin a gentle descent back into the forest. Soon you'll hear the sound of a brook in front of you, as it cascades over a series of small waterfalls. The trail crosses the brook just above the falls. A short bushwack to your right will take you past the falls. Return to you car by retracing your steps.

Trailhead: Take Route 287 to Skyline Drive exit. Continue on Skyline Drive and park at 2nd (upper) parking lot (on left). (Lat:41.04683 Lon:-74.25029)

It is unclear where the yellow trail leads...

Either my friends and I are seriously slow and out of shape or the person who did the initial description of this hike is a monster trail runner. The overall hike time is closer to 3 hours, not 1.5. The trail itself is very pretty and well maintained. The falls are tiny but lovely. For you dog-lovers, the trail is definitely dog-friendly. Our dachshund was able to attack the steepest grades unassisted and was able to get over the occasional log with ease. One more note - wear hiking boots for this trail, which is very rocky is most areas. Thin-soled "trail shoes" will not be your friend on this one.

I hiked this trail yesterday. The over look has a nice view of Oakland. Lake Todd has beautiful flowers growing in it.... The waterfalls were beautiful.... small in size, but the water was very clear. I recommend this trail, especially on a clear sunny day.

The hiking trails are ok, but don't go on the higher trail because you will get lost. There were people lost there for about a day. Nothing really to see thats really special.

Nice views from the overlook. The falls are actually a series of small waterfalls. As you walk upstream you'll see several. Very nice when the water is flowing.
