WATSP - Ridgeline Trail #1.

Summary: Once through the gate turn hard left and follow the trail under the catwalk. The trail will go down the east spur and nearly straight east - then turn south. At 0.2 miles the trail will turn west-southwest into an arroyo and climb up to the south spur. At 0.4 miles the trail reaches the south spur and turns north-northwest. At 0.45 miles you come to a fork, stay right. At 0.67 miles you will reach the B-36 overlook. If you look down the mountain to the west you will see parts of a crash site from 1951. See the FMSP-B36 hike for more info. From this point the trail switch-backs up to the bluff on the ridge where the trail ends. Return via reverse route.
Trailhead: From the junction of US-54 and Fred Wilison Road go west on Fred Wilison Road until it curves left (south) and becomes Alabama Street. Continue on Alabama Street about 0.75 miles to McKinley Street. Turn right (west) on McKinley Street and go all the way to the parking lot on the top. Stop and pay the park fee at the entrance booth and ride the tram to the top. Check out and back in with the rangers in the gift shop before leaving. The metal gate near the tram pad is the trailhead. (Lat:31.80518 Lon:-106.48305)
