Kings Blvd Water Tower Loop

Highlights:

A thigh burning hike through the hills of NW Corvallis
Near:Corvallis, OR
Scenery:
Distance:4 miles round trip
Elevation Gain:190 ft
Hike Time:2 hours
Difficulty:Moderate
Trail Condition:OK, but a few difficult spots
HikeType:Loop

Summary: This loop can be entered from several locations. My favorite is to from Walnut Blvd. You start on a narrow trail with a moderate incline. The first 1/4th of the hike is on a trail. The middle 1/2 is paved and the last 1/4 is on a trail again. The trails are narrow and may be muddy in the winter. Beautiful trees, blackberry bushes along the way. Highlight of this hike is 6 elevation changes. it is a good "calves" workout. There are also 3 geocaches along this hike. You come out on Lester Ave, turn east, follow road and take a right on to McDougal to Bonney, to a right on to 13th. 13th ends at the water tower. Pichup the trail to your right at the fence. This trail takes you back to the powerline trail and to tour car.
Trailhead: In Corvallis, Oregon at the corner of Kings Blvd & Walnut Blvd. Park at the shopping center parking lot, and walk across Walnut Blvd. Look for the power-lines overhead and you are at the trail head. (Lat:44.59217 Lon:-123.27615)
