Summary: Typical rail-trail conversion with an even and level surface of crushed limestone.
This section of the Youghiogheny River Trail features an interesting geologic feature. The "Rusty Falls" south of Industry are built from the runoff of the Pittsburgh Coal Company's Ocean No. 2 Mine which closed in 1932.
This section of trail features two sets of mile markers. The original P&LE markers measuring rail miles to Pittsburgh and the new plastic Great Allegheny Passage merkers for trail miles to Cumberland.
