Summary: WARNING; Corral creek contains natural occuring arsenic, bring your own water. Other wise, this is a lovely 3 season hike along a pretty stream with a variety of trees and flowers. Although I listed this hike as an out and back, it can be a loop or point to point as it converges with the Elk Meadows road. You can either arrange for a pick up there, or follow the road back to Bannock highway, then to trailhead.
Trailhead: Follow Bannock Highway south from Pocatello and up Mink Creek canyon. From the entry into the Caribou Natl Forest continue 4 miles. Fifty yards pass the junction with South Fork of Mink Creek(stay right) is the large parking area and trailhead. (Lat:42.42749 Lon:-112.25332)

I took my wife and kids up late April 2006. Very beautiful country. I might mention that the trail has experienced considerable erosion and its failry muddy in spots. Over all, it's a very nice hike and not too intense for your average hiker. We will definitely return once the trail has dried out some more and the aspens have greened up a bit. Lots of pine and deciduous mixed together with a really sharp rain shadow. There looks like there could be a fair amount of ATV use, so be on the lookout for that. We went early in the year and on a weekday and didn't see any riders.

My husband and I decided to take an afternoon off, we decided to hike this trail. We went on this hike on 31st of May, 2005. We reached the trailhead at about 4:15pm. The hike was moderate. The wildflowers are blooming and colorful butterflies all over. The sound of the stream was very soothing. Once we reached the top, the view was just breathtaking. We choose to continue with the trail which sort of lead to a fork. No markers were present. We decided to turn left on the fork. Shortly, we reached another fork. Took the left and finaly after many beautiful views, reached the road. Walked back to the parking lot. The trail was very well kept. Peace and quite. Will take visitors on this hike again.
