Summary: From the trailhead follow Scott Gulch. In the first couple hundred yards of the hike you can use the remains of the old Hoosier Pass road, but this trail quickly turns around and heads back to the road. Not much a distinct trail exists, but continue up the gulch along Scott Creek. Follow the creek until it disappears beneath the saddle of Heartbreak hill. Continue on up to the saddle where you will see the rest of the route. Descend into the valley on the other side, veering slightly north away from the saddle. When you reach the bottom there will be a large ridge to the Southeast. Ascend this ridge staying left of a large knoll 3/4 of the way up. When you reach the top of this turn left and follow the summit ridge due east until you reach the summit. Trailhead: This trailhead is a bit non descript, but that's the reason why you'll probably have the trail to yourself. From Breckenridge take highway 9 south over Hoosier pass. From the summit of Hoosier Pass measure 1.3 miles and look for a small pullout area on the East side of the road just before the road crosses Scott Gulch. There is an old 4X4 trail that leads East up a steep incline from this parking lot, but it is not for public use.
